Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the sky, the Icelandic volcano has grown stronger. Some flights resumed from Scottish airports, despite a new cloud of ash drifted south from Iceland. With conditions changing by the hour, the British opened airspace over Scotland for a few dozen flights around 7 a.m. and will reopen all British airspace at 10 p.m. local time. However, if conditions are bad enough, flights may be divereed to land in other locations. So far, 25 planes are en route and hoping to land in London. "This is an unprecedented situation, it is affecting the whole of northern Europe, so our priority is first, to make the most of the hole in the clouds that is going to emerge because of the temporary stalling yesterday of the volcano,” Foreign Secretary David Miliband said.
