In the middle of delivering a speech at a Flint, Michigan, church on Wednesday afternoon, Donald Trump was interrupted by a pastor, just as the GOP presidential nominee began bashing Hillary Clinton.
Per press reports, Rev. Faith Green Timmons of Flint’s Bethel United Methodist Church approached Trump on stage as his remarks shifted from the area’s water crisis (and efforts to combat it) to his Democratic opponent.
“Hillary failed on the economy, just like she’s failed on foreign policy,” Trump said. “Everything she touched didn’t work out. Nothing. Now, Hillary Clinton…”
That’s as far as he got before she shut him down.
“Mr. Trump, I invited you here to thank us for what we’ve done in Flint, not give a political speech,” Timmons told him.
“OK, that’s good, then I’m going back onto Flint, OK,” he replied.
(The reverend, who goes by Pastor Faith, can be seen here shaking President Obama’s hand.)
The Daily Beast’s call to the Flint church was not immediately returned on Wednesday afternoon. Trump was also reportedly subject to some heckling during his appearance at the plant, and the mayor of Flint, Michigan, had previously discouraged Trump from touring the facility.
