Nearly 16 months after the water in Flint, Michigan, was determined to be the likely source of a deadly Legionnaires’ disease outbreak, the public supply still hasn’t been tested for the lethal bacteria. The Detroit News reports that not one of the five government agencies aware of the outbreak investigated the water system for the presence of Legionella. The county’s health department reported concerns over the bacteria’s possible presence in the water as early as October 2014. At least 10 people have died from the outbreak, and an additional 87 cases of the infection had been reported as of last month.
