A judge in Florida extended the voter registration deadline by an additional day, allowing people to register through Wednesday in light of Hurricane Matthew. Initially, governor Rick Scott did not want to extend the deadline which prompted a lawsuit by Democrats. "Quite simply, it is wholly irrational in this instance for Florida to refuse to extend the voter registration deadline when the state already allows the governor to suspend or move the election date due to an unforeseen emergency," U.S. District Judge Mark Walker said in an order.
