Four men have been arrested in connection to a New Jersey mall carjacking that led to a man being shot in front of his wife outside a mall in Short Hills last weekend. Hanif Thompson, 29, Karif Ford, 31, Basim Henry, 32, and Kevin Roberts, 33, were charged with murder, conspiracy, and other counts in the Dec. 15 carjacking of Dustin Friedland. A county prosecutor said the crime appeared to be motivated by the particular kind of car the suspects were looking for. Mourners at Friedland’s funeral said that the Syracuse University law graduate was shot in the head and killed as he was opening the door of his Range Rover for his wife, who was unharmed.
