Two Fox News anchors apologized to viewers on Thursday after a guest likened Hillary Clinton to herpes. Turning Points USA Director of Spanish Engagement Anna Paulina made the remark during a discussion about the controversy over the former Democratic presidential candidate’s private emails. When Fox News Rick Leventhal said he was “amazed” that Clinton was still generating headlines, Paulina quipped, “She won’t go away, she’s like herpes.” Leventhal, apparently taken aback by the comment, quickly stepped in to say the remarks were “not appropriate.” After Paulina was apparently removed from the rest of the segment, Leventhal apologized to viewers for the “language that was used.” Fox News anchor Arthel Neville later issued a separate apology. “We want to reiterate that we do not condone the language that Anna Paulina just displayed here, and we apologize to Secretary Clinton for that,” Neville said. “Fox News does not condone her sentiment.”
