Is Herman Cain a top-tier Republican presidential contender? After upsetting Rick Perry in the Florida straw poll Saturday, a Fox News poll shows Cain having tripled his support in recent days to 17 percent. That puts him ahead of all GOP contenders except Mitt Romney, who has regained his lead with 23 percent, and Rick Perry, who has dropped 10 points to 19 percent. Cain, however, may not be as popular in Florida as the straw poll may seem to indicate: a PPP poll finds his support in the state at just 7 percent, down from 14 percent in June.
