Is the Ivory Coast standoff finally at an end? French soldiers have reportedly seized incumbent President Laurent Gbagbo and handed him over to the forces of U.N. recognized President Alassane Ouattara. French tanks apparently entered Gbagbo’s compound, where he had been holed up for days, following French and U.N. helicopter attacks. "Gbagbo has been arrested by French special forces in his residence and has been handed over to the rebel leaders," said presidential spokesman Toussaint Alain. Gbagbo’s forces have been clashing with Ouattara’s supporters and U.N. troops in the city of Abidjan for several days.
