Fukushima Workers Expect to Die

Many of the Fukushima workers who have been tirelessly working to prevent reactor meltdowns since the earthquake and tsunami struck three weeks ago believe they will die from radiation exposure. The "Fukushima 50," who have been at the plant constantly since disaster struck, "have committed themselves to die if necessary to save the nation," the mother of one worker told Fox News. Her son "told me they have accepted they will all probably die from radiation sickness in the short term or cancer in the long term," she said. Online postings and emails from the Fukushima workers have shown the public the dire conditions that they've had to endure. A Tokyo Electric Power Co. official who had spent time at the plant also expressed concerns about their health. TEPCO still claims they regularly conduct testing on the workers for radiation sickness. Three went to the hospital last week, but no other instances of radiation sickness have been reported.
