Funerals began in Iraq on Friday for some of those killed in a deadly spate of violence throughout the country just one day earlier. Officials now say that over 90 people were killed in the strikes, from 21 near a Baghdad ice cream shop to seven Iraqi soldiers at a northern checkpoint. The attacks came as the country prepares to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the festival that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, and officials believe there could be more violence coming during the holiday itself. Authorities believe al Qaeda is responsible for the attacks, which mostly targeted Shiite areas.
