Scientists say that the technology behind Star Wars style 3D holograms is "close to reality." Researchers at the University of Arizona are at work on moving holograms which could be used in the office, at the movies, and for advertisers as well. The new system under developed refreshes images every two seconds and present a pictures as clear as broadcast television. It's not just George Lucas geeks who are psyched. Doctors see potential as well: surgeons could use the displays to help with surgery. News of the research was published in Nature.
