He’s back. After weeks of silence, ousted Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has issued an audio message calling for loyalists to fight back against the new government. In the address, played on Syria’s Arrai television, Gaddafi tells Libyans to flood the streets “in their millions” and resist the National Transitional Council. The date the message was recorded is unknown, but Gaddafi reminds his followers to be courageous and raise “green flags to the skies.” He goes on to ask how the NTC came to power. The message comes as the former rebels battle for control of Gaddafi's stronghold Sirte. There have been conflicting reports: earlier the NTC said it had captured Sirte and its airport; loyalists deny these claims.
