Muammar Gaddafi may be preparing a last stand: The Libyan leader has holed up in Tripoli with loyal segments of the military and thousands of African mercenaries from countries like Chad, Sudan, and Niger. On Wednesday, several more cities fell to protesters, including Libya's third-largest city Misurata. Gaddafi's forces, meanwhile, began striking back at cities near Tripoli. The New York Times says Gaddafi’s forces are also massing on the roads into Tripoli.
