Gaddafi Stronghold Nears Collapse

The end may be in sight for weary Libyan leaders. After eight months of fighting, revolutionary troops say they have captured 90 percent of Bani Walid, one of the last cities still loyal to fallen leader Muammar Gaddafi. Libyan forces gained control of the city’s center and hospital, but a few of the dictator’s troops remain on the outskirts. After Bani Walid is secured, Gaddafi’s hometown of Sirte will be the last city still in the clutches of Gaddafi’s followers.
