Has Muammar Gaddafi finally fled Libya? A huge convoy of 200 to 250 military vehicles has crossed into Niger, and sources tell Reuters that Gaddafi and his son Saif may join it en route to Burkina Faso, a central African country that has offered them asylum. Several Gaddafi officials have fled already to Niger, including Mansour Dhao, the head of Gaddafi’s security brigades. Al Jazeera says the convoy definitely is carrying several of Gaddafi’s top advisers, though a Niger official disputes their high rank and the size of the convoy. The convoy departed Libya from Bani Walid, a Gaddafi stronghold, which on Tuesday agreed to lay down its arms.
