Crime boss Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow was sentenced Thursday to life in prison after being convicted on 162 charges of murder, racketeering, and other offenses, following a lengthy federal investigation into the Chinatown district of San Francisco. Prosecutors said Chow ordered the killing of the head of a Chinese fraternal order, which he then took over. Investigators said Chow used that organization as a front for drug-trafficking, money-laundering, and the sale of stolen cigarettes and alcohol. Chow vigorously denied taking his predecessor’s life, but did admit to dealing drugs and running a street gang.
