Upheaval in the Middle East is wreaking havoc with the U.S. economy, causing gasoline prices to surge 17 cents in just one week—and analysts say the numbers aren't done climbing. Every dollar increase in the price of oil is said to rob American consumers’ pockets of $1 billion per year, threatening a delicate economic recovery in the U.S. Hawaii saw the highest oil prices this week at $3.761 a gallon; the national average was $3.33.
