Gaza Truce Broken by Bloodshed

A brief truce between Israelis and Palestianians ended in more bloodshed Monday. Palestinian officials say that Israel struck a hospital, which produced no casualties, and a park in Gaza, which killed ten civilians. A spokesman for the Israeli Defense Forces said Israel was not involved in the attack and that the hospital strike was a misfire by Palestinian militants. Four IDF soldiers were killed by mortar fire on the border Monday, and anther was killed in clashes with militants. At least five Palestinians were killed by the Islamic University. United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called on both sides to halt to the violence Monday. “In the name of humanity, the violence must stop."
