Brigadier General Jeffrey A. Sinclair is expected to enter a guilty plea on Monday to lesser charges in a two-year sexual assault case that included accusations he forced his mistress into oral sex, threatened to kill her, and performed consensual but “open and notorious sexual acts” with her. Married with two children, Sinclair was seen as a rising star in the military for his work as deputy commander of the 82nd Airborne Division. Young's punishment will not be determined until a judge finishes the sentencing hearing. Sinclair is expected to plead guilty to disobeying a commander’s order not to contact his mistress, using demeaning language to refer to female officers, and misusing his government travel charge card. Earlier this month, Sinclair pleaded guilty to adultery, requesting explicit photographs from female Army officers and possessing pornography in a combat theater.
