Actor George Clooney was arrested on Friday morning outside of the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, D.C. The 50-year-old has been outspoken on the ongoing trouble in Sudan and has pressed for diplomatic intervention in the war-torn African nation. Clooney returned from a trip with fellow activists and testified before Congress on Wednesday, saying that there was “a constant drip of fear” in Sudan. Clooney told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee the horrors of the war there, saying he “found children with shrapnel, including a 9-year-old boy who had both of his hands blown off.” It has been quite the week in Washington for Clooney, who was a guest of the Obamas on Wednesday night at the state dinner for British Prime Minister David Cameron.
