HE SAID, HE SAID

Actor George Takei on Saturday denied allegations that he groped a former model in the 1980s. The Star Trek legend wrote a lengthy response to claims made Friday by Scott Brunton, a former model and actor, who told The Hollywood Reporter on Friday that Takei groped him when he was passed out drunk at the actor’s condo in 1981. Brunton said he woke to find “he had my pants down around my ankles and he was groping my crotch and trying to get my underwear off.” While Takei said he takes the allegations “very seriously,” he said the “events” described by Brunton “simply did not occur” and described it as a “he said/he said situation.” “I do not know why he has claimed them now. I have wracked my brain to ask if I remember Mr. Brunton, and I cannot say I do,” Takei tweeted. “Those that know me understand that non-consensual acts are so antithetical to my values and my practices, the very idea that someone would accuse me of this is quite personally painful,” he wrote.
