Germans Missing in Afghanistan Killed

FOUND

Hikers’ bodies had bullet wounds.

The bodies of two Germans who disappeared nearly three weeks ago while hiking in the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan have been found, an Afghan police chief said Monday. The two men had bullet wounds in their chests, but it's not clear when they died. The Hindu Kush is extremely rugged and remote, and the bodies were found a few miles from where the Germans began their hike on Aug. 19. It’s unclear who found the bodies; the area is inhabited mostly by nomadic shepherds.
