The vermin are full of disease and eating each other.

So much for rats being the first to leave a ship. The Lyubov Orlova cruise liner is about to make land on Britain's shore carrying nothing but disease-ridden rats who are presumably eating each other to stay alive. The ship has been drifting across the Atlantic for about a year since it was abandoned in a Canadian harbor after its owners failed to pay the crew. A salvage hunter says he'll poison the entire ship if he finds it. Meanwhile, the Irish coastguard warns: "We must stay vigilant."
