Arizona Democrat Ron Barber is going to run to take over the seat held by his former boss Gabrielle Giffords in June and again in November for a full term, he announced Monday. Barber was Giffords’s district director and was among the 18 people in the line of fire when the congresswoman was attacked last year, taking bullets to his face and leg. Barber has already landed the sentimental vote, at least from his own party, as other Arizona Democrats have declined participating in the special election.
