Giffords Told Who Died in Shooting

Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has been told who died in the Tucson shooting that left her severely wounded. Giffords' spokesman said the representative was told the names of the dead in late July, including her longtime aide Gabe Zimmerman, her friend District Judge John Roll, and 9-year-old Christina-Taylor Green. People had been waiting for Giffords to recover from her brain injury before telling her the extent of the tragedy. "She was deeply saddened by it,” said the spokesman. The Jan. 8 shooting killed six people and wounded 13 others, including Giffords. Jared Lee Loughner, the man charged with the rampage, has been ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial.
