Newt Gingrich's campaign lashed out at Virginia's Republican Party on Saturday after he and several other candidates were disqualified from the party's primary ballot. Along with Rick Perry, Jon Huntsman, Michele Bachmann, and Rick Santorum, Gingrich failed to provide the required 10,000 signatures to get on the ballot. The Perry campaign claimed to have submitted 11,911 signatures and Gingrich said he submitted 11,050, but the state said it wasn't enough. "Only a failed system excludes four out of the six major candidates seeking access to the ballot. Voters deserve the right to vote for any top contender, especially leading candidates," Gingrich's campaign manager said in a statement.
