Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday said she should not have answered a question about San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s national anthem protest, citing her lack of understanding of the issue. “Barely aware of the incident or its purpose, my comments were inappropriately dismissive and harsh,” Ginsburg said in a statement. “I should have declined to respond.” Ginsburg drew fire from liberals when she called the protest, which was done to raise awareness of police brutality and racism in America, “dumb.”
