Is it possible that Fox News and Glenn Beck will one day be in competition with each other? Sources close to the explosive Fox News host say he is considering starting his own channel when his contract expires at the end of the year. Earlier this week, reports surfaced that a senior Fox News executive, Joel Cheatwood, would join Beck’s media company, Mercury Radio Arts—a sign that Beck has plans to leave Fox at the end of the year. Beck declined to comment on his plans and instead, in a statement, praised Fox News chief Roger Ailes as building “the most important voice in America today—Fox News.” Forbes magazine estimated last year that Beck earned $4 million last year from his Web operations—twice the amount he makes at Fox News.
