Google is joining Apple and Amazon’s race to be part of your television. At its annual I/O developers conference Wednesday, Google officially introduced Android TV. In 2010, Google tried to win the battle for the living room with Google TV, but the endeavor was largely deemed a bust. Android TV will run on hardware similar to set-top boxes like Roku and Apple TV. The Andorid TV will not only be able to make search recommendations, but provide contextual information on your favorite shows. Google Play will also be a prominent feature with plenty of options for gamers. At the same conference, Samsung unveiled Gear Live, a smartwatch that runs on Android Wear, Google's operating system for wearables.
