Republican presidential candidates didn't wait long to start blaming President Obama for the downgrade in the United States' credit rating. Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman piled on first, saying Standard & Poor's move was the result of the government's reckless spending and America's economic decline. Rep. Michele Bachmann joined in, calling on Obama to force Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to resign. Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Tim Pawlenty all said the president was responsible for the downgrade.
