GOP Blocks Financial Reform Again

Whatever else you might think of him, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell can really hold his caucus together: For the third straight day, the Republican caucus in the Senate held rank to block the Senate from opening debate on financial reform. The tally was 56 to 42, with Democratic Senator Ben Nelson joining in the filibuster for the third time. Now, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is planning an all-night session on Wednesday to put more pressure on the GOP.
