Who says it isn’t a party with Rick Perry? At Tea Party leader Jim DeMint’s Palmetto Freedom Forum on Monday, GOP candidates Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Ron Paul, Herman Cain, and Newt Gingrich battled to impress the judges with their conservative views. According to Politico, Romney did not pander to the Tea Party, aiming his views for more primary voters. When asked if he would support an amendment banning abortion, the GOP candidate said he wanted to overturn Roe v. Wade, but he would not condone a “constitutional crisis.” Meanwhile, Bachmann jabbed Romney and Obama on health care. Perry was scheduled to take part in the forum, but canceled his appearance because of the ongoing Texas wildfires.
