Republican Representative Michael McCaul told CNN that he learned in intelligence briefings that the Republican National Committee had been hacked but was later refuted by RNC communications director Sean Spicer. Shortly after the interview and Spicer's comments, McCaul walked his statements back and said he misspoke. "I misspoke by asserting that the RNC was hacked. What I had intended to say was that in addition to the DNC hack, Republican Political Operatives have also been hacked," he said in a statement.
