A grand jury recommended that Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane face criminal charges for leaking secret information to the Philadelphia Daily News. Montgomery County district attorney Risa Vetri Ferman has the final say on whether charges will be filed against Kane, who in 2012 became the first woman and Democrat elected as Pennsylvania attorney general. But Kane’s tenure has been marred by a series of controversies, including a claim that she buried a sting operation that caught elected officials on tape accepting cash bribes.
