States along the Gulf Coast are prepping for Tropical Storm Lee which is expected to make landfall on Sunday. States of emergency have been declared in Louisiana and Mississippi. It is not expected to become a hurricane, but officials are worried about the rainfall it will bring, and it is moving very slowly. It is expected to drop up to 20 inches of rain in some areas. A spokesman for the National Weather Service said, “The bottom line is the longer it stays, the more rain we’re going to get.” The storm has shut down almost half of all oil production in the Gulf. In New Orleans, officials have 68 boats prepared in the event of flooding. Mayor Mitch Landrieu said, “Be prepared for whatever may come our way because we just don’t know.”
