A fire sparked by a natural gas rig in the Gulf of Mexico is still burning 24 hours after it began on Tuesday. Forty-four workers were evacuated when the explosion occurred, but none were injured. Officials are uncertain about how much natural gas is leaking from the site, which is 55 miles off the coast of Louisiana, but there is reportedly a “light sheet” spread over a half mile of water that is “dispersing quickly.”
