Democrats aren’t the only ones facing a scary backlash: The Richmond campaign office of the No. 2 House Republican, Eric Cantor, was shot at on Wednesday night, and he has requested increased security protection. Other recent incidents: Rep. Tom Perriello’s (D-Va.) gas lines were cut after a Tea Partier posted his address online, thinking it was the congressman’s; Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) says he’s received death threats; and Louise Slaughter (D-NY) was told snipers were being sent out to kill the children of those who voted “yes” on health care. Additionally, several congressmen have had bricks thrown through the windows of their offices. In reaction, several Tea Parties have begun condemning violence.
