A gunman who opened fire in Studio City, Calif. on Friday afternoon was shot to death by police. Witnesses report seeing a man fire two shots into the air and two into the ground before police arrived. “It was so bizarre,” one witness told the Los Angeles Times. “He wasn’t agitated…He looked like he was just waiting for the cops.” When officers arrived and asked the man, who appeared to be in his 40s or 50s, to drop the gun, the man reportedly raised it and was shot by police. Bomb squad crews detonated at least one item nearby and examined several others. No other injuries were reported.
