Gunman Sets Fire to Ca. Mall

Bizarre Crime

After locking himself in a store.

Maybe he wasn't happy about starting his holiday shopping? A popular Sacramento mall is up in flames after a man started a small fire in an Electronics Boutique store and then locked himself in the back room. Police responded to the situation at 10:30 a.m. The man didn’t hold any hostages, acted alone, and didn’t appear to have a motive. A suspect is now in custody, but flames are still rising from the mall. Officials had originally believed that automated sprinklers had put out the fire, and instead focused on checking a backpack they found for signs of a bomb.
