A Hamas official said that Gaza militants have agreed to a ceasefire with Israel, which would mark an end to three days of violence. Hamas said Israel has agreed to stop its airstrikes if the Palestinian militants stop firing rockets into the country's southern region. But shortly after the agreement was announced, new rockets were fired into Israel. The violence erupted Thursday after Palestinian fighters ambushed buses and killed eight Israelis. Egypt was also brought into the dispute when Israel, in pursuit of who they said were the responsible culprits, killed five Egyptian police.
