Prince Harry took time out from his official duties in Rome today to take a guided tour of the city's most famous landmark, the Colosseum, dressed casually in a pale blue checked shirt and jeans.

Harry, 29, made a tour of the ancient circus while it was open to the public, and briefly became the star attraction at the 2,000-year old venue where gladiators once fought to the death.

Unlike his granny, Harry does carry cash, and paid for his own ticket and those of his staff.
