Harvard University administrators apparently searched emails of 16 resident deans last year in hopes of finding out who was leaking information about the school’s cheating scandal, sources told The Boston Globe on Sunday. The resident deans are on Harvard’s administrative board, which is handling the cheating case. The deans were not told about the spying beforehand, and only one was told afterward. The school apparently searched email accounts that were meant to be used for work matters, not personal. Resident deans are not professors, but they teach, raising concerns about privacy issues.
