HBO’s hit teen drama Euphoria has ended for good. Sam Levinson, who created the series, confirmed on The New York Times Popcast music podcast that Sunday’s Season 3 finale doubled as the program’s farewell. That final stretch—which honored late actor Angus Cloud, who played drug dealer Fezco O’Neill on the show until his 2023 death from an overdose at 25—caps what’s thought to have been a rocky production process. Friction had reportedly simmered offscreen, with star Zendaya reportedly clashing with Levinson as he pivoted toward other projects amid talk of cancellation and several other cast exits. Filming also stalled during the Hollywood strikes, and after the death of producer Kevin Turen. HBO drama boss Francesca Orsi defended the four-year wait for the final chapter, telling the Hollywood Reporter: “It was important that everyone felt season three was moving the story forward in a meaningful and ambitious way.” Levinson also urged fans not to delay in catching up on the final run. “If you’re not watching episodes seven and eight live, the moment they drop, they will get spoiled,” he said. “There’s some big things that happen.”
