HBO announced Thursday that it will be producing a miniseries based on the upcoming book from authors John Heilemann and Mark Halperin. The pair, who also star in the documentary series The Circus for Showtime, plan to chronicle the 2016 election in their new book as they did in 2008 with Game Change and then four years later with Double Down. In 2012, HBO aired the Emmy Award-winning film version of Game Change, starring Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin and Ed Harris as John McCain. No casting announcements have been made for the still-untitled miniseries project, which will be directed by Jay Roach and executive produced by Tom Hanks.
