Hot enough for ya? The scorching heat wave that’s been broiling the Midewst reached the Northeast in full force on Friday, roasting cities with record-breaking temperatures. Newark, N.J. recorded temperatures of 108, the city’s highest temperature ever. Washington D.C. hit 105 degrees. New York City reached 104 degrees—though the added humidity made residents feel much hotter. The heat wave is believed to have caused more than a dozen deaths around the country since it began last weekend. In Louisville, Kentucky, an 18-year-old landscaper who died from the heat registered a temperature of 110 degrees.
