An Alabama pastor and his congregants are being hailed as heroes after stopping a gunman allegedly intent on killing his girlfriend and son inside the church Sunday. James Junior Minter allegedly opened fire from the front pew of the church, and Rev. Earl Carswell was shot in the leg while stopping him. The suspect fled the church and was captured by police nearby.
