Hillary Clinton: ‘Shocked and Appalled’ by Weinstein Sexual-Harassment Allegations
“The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated.”
Peter Morgan/Reuters
Hillary Clinton said in a statement Tuesday that she was “shocked and appalled” by the recent sexual-harassment allegations against film producer and Democratic mega-donor Harvey Weinstein. “The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated,” she said. “Their courage and the support of others is critical in helping to stop this kind of behavior.” The statement comes after The New York Times and the New Yorker published accusations by several women on Tuesday of sexual assault or rape by Weinstein. The Hollywood kingmaker donated the maximum $5,400 to Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
