Early exit polls show that 15 percent of Florida voters who’ve turned out for the primary so far are Hispanic. This number has increased significantly through the years—no doubt in correlation with the growing Latino population in the state. Five percent of Hispanic voters participated in the 1988 Republican primary, and only 7 percent showed up in 2000. Also made evident by early exit polls are the economic problems much of Florida faces. Thirty-five percent of voters who cast a ballot Tuesday said they made $50,000 or less in 2012. In 2008, just 29 percent of voters were in that income range.
