The creators of hitchBOT confirmed Wednesday that the machine is on its way home to Canada. The announcement came after two YouTube pranksters admitted that they had faked a video showing the experimental hitchhiking robot getting destroyed. It is unclear what happened to the droid before it was found in pieces in a Philadelphia alley early Sunday morning.
