Paul Feig, director of McCarthy’s breakout film Bridesmaids, tweeted that Reed could “go f--- himself.” Observer commenters also attacked Reed, accusing him of a double standard. But McCarthy may have gotten the last laugh: although it received mixed reviews, her new film Identity Thief brought in $11.2 million on its opening night, Friday, despite the blizzard that hit the Northeast.
